Some things don’t need much planning.
They just happen at the right time, in the right place, with the right people.
This shoot in Tokyo was one of those moments.
It was spontaneous, instinctive, and very much in the spirit of CIN — following feeling over structure, and letting the image speak before trying to explain it.
Shot in November in Tokyo, on film by Teo Josserand, with Cera in front of the lens, this series captures something I love deeply: when a garment simply exists in a place and becomes part of its atmosphere.
There was no need to overbuild anything.
The city already gave us so much.
Tokyo has this way of feeling both quiet and electric at the same time.
There is precision everywhere, but also emotion in the details, in the light, in movement, in what feels almost accidental.
That’s what I wanted these images to hold.
Something honest.
Something effortless.
Something that feels lived in rather than staged.
Cera brought exactly that.
A presence that felt natural, direct, and never forced.
And Teo captured it in the most beautiful way on film / soft, raw, and immediate.
The kind of images that feel more like memories than photographs.
And sometimes that says more than anything else.
